Privacy Policy – Countix
Last updated: June 14, 2026
1. Overview
Countix is a simple counter app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app processes, how that data is used, and what choices users have.
Countix is designed to keep user data on the user’s own devices whenever possible.
2. Data Controller
The data controller for Countix is the app developer.

3. What Data the App Processes
Countix only processes data that the user creates or enters in the app. This can include:
- Count names

- Saved count dates and times
- App settings such as language preference
- App settings such as date format preference
- App settings such as iCloud Sync preference
- App settings such as appearance preference
- App settings such as sound and haptic feedback preferences

4. What the App Is Used For
Countix provides features such as:
- Starting a new count
- Continuing an active or saved count
- Naming a count
- Saving counts for later
- Viewing, editing, reordering, and deleting saved counts
- Exporting saved counts as PDF or CSV when requested by the user

- Creating a manual iCloud backup and restoring from that backup when requested by the user
- Syncing active count state, saved counts, and selected settings between iPhone and Apple Watch
- Applying the user’s selected language, date format, iCloud Sync, appearance, sound, and haptic settings
5. Why Data Is Used
Data is processed only to provide the app’s core functionality, such as:
- Displaying active and saved counts
- Letting the user edit, reorder, or delete saved counts
- Exporting and sharing data when requested by the user
- Syncing relevant app data and preferences through Apple iCloud when iCloud Sync is enabled by the user
- Creating and restoring manual iCloud backups when requested by the user
- Syncing relevant app data and preferences between the user’s iPhone and Apple Watch
- Applying the user’s selected language, date format, iCloud Sync, appearance, sound, and haptic settings
6. Storage and Location of Data
App data is primarily stored locally on the user’s device or paired devices.
This may include local device storage mechanisms used by Apple platform apps. Data is not stored on the developer’s own servers by default.
If the user enables iCloud Sync, selected app data may also be stored in the user’s own iCloud account using Apple’s iCloud key-value storage so that it can sync between the user’s devices.
If the user creates a manual iCloud backup, the backup copy and its creation date may be stored in the user’s own iCloud account using Apple’s iCloud key-value storage. Restoring a backup copies that backup data back to the current device.
When using iPhone and Apple Watch together, some app data may be transferred between the user’s own devices through Apple’s device-to-device communication frameworks in order to support sync features.
7. Sharing with Third Parties
Countix does not sell user data and does not disclose user data to third parties for advertising or profiling purposes.
If the user enables iCloud Sync or creates an iCloud backup, Apple’s iCloud services may process the synced or backed-up app data as part of the user’s iCloud account. Apple’s privacy practices apply to Apple iCloud services.
If the user chooses to export or share data, the selected destination may receive that data. Examples may include Files, Mail, Messages, and cloud storage services. In those cases, the privacy practices of the selected app or service also apply.
8. Analytics, Tracking, and Advertising
Countix does not include in-app advertising, does not use its own behavioral tracking, and does not profile users for marketing purposes.
9. Data Retention
Data is kept until the user removes it. For example, data may remain available until the user deletes saved counts in the app, resets or changes app data, or uninstalls the app.
A manual iCloud backup may remain in the user’s iCloud account until it is replaced by a newer backup, app data is removed, or the user’s iCloud account or device settings remove it.
Device backups, including Apple backup services, may store app data depending on the user’s own device settings.
10. User Control
Because the app is intended to keep data under the user’s control, users can generally view their saved data in the app, edit their saved data, reorder saved counts, delete saved counts, choose the app language, choose the app date format, choose whether iCloud Sync is enabled, create an iCloud backup, restore from an iCloud backup, choose the app appearance, and choose whether sounds and haptics are enabled.
The appearance setting changes only Countix. It does not change the system appearance of the iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.
11. Children’s Privacy
Countix is not specifically directed to children and does not independently collect personal data over a network.
12. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version should be made available with the app or its support materials.
